The Harvard Women's Law Association is proud to host our 7th Annual Conference, 19%: When Will Women Have the Floor?, which will take place at Harvard Law School on Friday, February 8th, in Wasserstein Hall, Milstein East. The event is sponsored by Kirkland & Ellis, LLP.

The event will explore women's representation in politics and public life following an exhilarating election cycle and a historic year for women in elected office. We hope to provide a forum for our community to explore and critically examine what roles lawyers can play in pursuit of equal representation of women in the political process. We will also consider questions such as, do “more women” leaders equal more “pro-woman” policies?  And what role can lawyers play in furthering women in the political sphere?

We are honored to welcome Stephanie Schriock, President of EMILY’s List, as the 2013 keynote speaker. Other highlights from the conference will include Fawzia Koofi, Afgan Parliamentarian and 2014 Presidential candidate, Susan Markham, Director of Women's Political Participation at the National Democratic Institute, Katie Biber, General Counsel of the 2012 Romney presidential Campaign, and Karen Dunn, debate preparation aid for President Obama and Communications Director for Senator Hillary Clinton.
