Stand Up! Stand Out! is a conference for law students and junior attorneys focusing on the skills and knowledge these new lawyers need to distinguish themselves and succeed in the profession. With three days of programming for students and two days of programming for practitioners, the conference is our most ambitious yet. Registration for the conference will be limited to 175 students and 150 practitioners and will open to the public in January 2011.
Registration fees will be reduced to $50 for students and $150 for public interest attorneys (the regular registration fee is $180). Registration for Friday evening's reception only is $50.
Day 1: Friday, April 1st
9:00 am: Registration
9:45 am: Welcome Remarks
Debbie Epstein Henry, author of Law & Reorder kicks things off with a discussion of the current market and the opportunities for progress and advancement in this period of economic and structural transition.
10:30 am - 12:00 pm: Morning Session
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm: Ladies Who Lunch (Quickly): A networking event for practitioners and students
1:30 pm - 3:00 pm: Afternoon Session 1
- Student Workshop: Self-Promotion
- Attorney Panels: Client Relations, Strategic "Extra-Curricular Activities," Professional Transitions: Why, Why & How
3:00 pm - 5:00 pm: Afternoon Session 2
5:00 pm - 7:00 pm: Ms. JD's 5th Birthday Celebration!
An evening reception celebrating Ms. JD's first five years and featuring remarks from Gloria Borges.
Note: Registration for those who wish only to attend the reception is $50.
Day 2: Saturday, April 2nd
Student Leadership Summit
A full day of student leadership activities, including skills building, National Women Law Student Organization board elections, and regional networking.
