ABA Leadership Academy Targets Women Lawyers Seeking to Take Their Careers to the Next Level

Editor's Note: Ms. JD is proud to be an affiliate organization to the ABA Commission on Women in the Profession.  This week, the Commission hosts their Women in Law Leadership Academy in San Francisco.  Here's more information about how you can get involved!

Women lawyers looking to accelerate their careers will have the opportunity to hear from those holding the keys to success during the 2012 Women in Law Leadership (WILL) Academy presented by the American Bar Association Commission on Women in the Profession and the Young Lawyers Division December 6-7 at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco.

The WILL Academy, titled Changing the Rules of the Game: It’s About Time, is designed to teach the skills necessary for maximizing leadership opportunities and the best practices for business development. It also offers the chance for women to network with some of the legal profession’s prominent general counsel, judges and practitioners.

Be part of the WILL experience – follow @ABAWomen on Twitter for all the official WILL tweets (don’t forget to check the #ABAWILL hashtag, too). You also can engage in the conversation on Facebook at www.facebook.com/ABACommissionWomen.

Among the featured speakers are San Francisco Superior Court Judge Angela Bradstreet, MissRepresentation.org founder and CEO Jennifer Siebel Newsom, and retired Latham and Watkins partner Edith R. Perez, former president of the Los Angeles Board of Police Commissioners.

In addition, the academy will feature a host of programs, including:

  • · The Building Blocks of Success: Business, Community and Institutional Leadership
  • · The Rainmaking X Factor: It Is More Than Just a Plan
  • · Business Leadership in Alternative Paths
  • · Setting Our Sights on the C-Suite

The action starts Thursday, December 6th!  If you're not registered yet, on site registration will be available the day of the event!
