Janet Yellen was confirmed as chair of the Federal Reserve, the first woman to ever lead the Fed. As the Fed looks to wind down programs designed to respond to the 2008 financial crisis, Yellen’s leadership will undoubtedly be under scrutiny from all angles. Reuters also notes that the timing of Yellen’s takeover unfortunately coincides with a number of female policymakers leaving the Fed.

Is being the boss the secret to being happy at work? One study suggests that bosses are far more likely to be happy in their current position than workers are.  The study also noted that 54% of workers and bosses said men tend to earn more money for doing the same work.
