Boston Women's Network Dinner Meeting
Join us for dinner, networking and an opportunity to hear our guest speaker - Jacqueline Cooke, Regional Administrator from the Women’s Bureau, U.S. Department of Labor.
“Better Jobs! Better Earnings! Better Living!”
The U.S. Department of Labor Women’s Bureau is the only federal agency charged with promoting the interests of women in the workplace. The Bureau was created by Congress in 1920, the same year women received the right to vote. In its early days, the Bureau worked to eliminate sweat shops and end child labor.
Today, in the 21st century, the National Office and ten regional offices promote flexibility in the workplace, provide free financial education to young women, encourage girls to consider non-traditional careers in science and engineering, and assist all women with desired transitions in the workforce.
