Hear Dr. Arin N. Reeves talk about her latest research on gender bias in communications. Arin has worked in the areas of racial/ethnic, gender, age/generational, sexual orientation, class, and cultural diversity, equity, discrimination and harassment in organizations for over ten years. With her new research, Arin tackles several important questions, including: 

Who is interrupted more?
Who interrupts more?   
How are interruptions perceived?
What can we all do to better manage interruptions and facilitate more effective communication?  

A leading researcher, author and advisor in the fields of leadership and inclusion, Arin studied business, attended law school and received her Ph.D. in Sociology. Arin’s first bestselling book, The Next IQ: The Next Generation of Intelligence for 21st Century Leaders, focuses on inclusion, unconscious biases, and bias interrupters.  Her latest book is One Size Never Fits All: Business Development Strategies Tailored for Women (And Most Men). Arin has been featured on NPR for her work and is cited often in online and traditional media as an expert in leadership and inclusion in workplaces.  She is a Fellow of Leadership Greater Chicago and was recognized as a Rising Star by the Anti-Defamation League.  Her column, “Diversity in Practice,” was recognized by the Herman Kogan Media Awards for excellence in journalism. 

 

After Arin presents her research, Latham lawyers will share their tips on how to manage interruptions and other communications techniques in the professional setting. 

The event will be held live in Latham’s Chicago office (330 North Wabash Ave., Suite 2800) beginning at 12:00 pm Central time, and viewing parties will be available in all of the following locations: Boston, Century City, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Orange County, San Diego, San Francisco, Silicon Valley, and Washington D.C.
