Avenues to Advancement

Ms. JD’s Third Annual Conference on Women in Law - co-sponsored by the ABA's Commission on Women in the Profession and Young Lawyer's Division, NAWL, the Young Lawyer's Committee of the Chicago Bar Association, and the Women and Law Committee of the Illinois State Bar Association - highlighted the different career paths available in the legal profession, the changing definitions of success, and the personal and professional infrastructure that best promotes retention and advancement of female attorneys.

The conference was held November 20-21, 2009 in Chicago, IL at Northwestern Law School and featured more than 20 panels and workshops on topics as broad-ranging as effective mentorship, navigating the economic downturn, and avoiding a "mommy track."
