The Importance of Planning A Career: It's Never Too Soon to Start

I wrote this article about a year ago, entitled "Treating Family Like Business." I believe that it provides useful advice for young female attorneys embarking on their careers. Best of luck with your project and as Cornell Law School alum (Class of 1988), I'm glad to see that you've got a Cornellian on board.

Great perspective

I've really enjoyed reading your blog over the past few months as I prepare for law school and I thought this article was very insightful. I've worked as a legal secretary for years and seen this sort of hands-off parenting style demonstrated by quite a few attorneys (women and men). I never considered it the way you've framed it here and appreciate the perspective. In terms of my relationship with my own child (3), I will definitely keep these tips in mind as I start law school and then, hopefully, move out into the world as a practicing attorney.
