2008 Ms. JD Summer Law Clerk
Duties will include:
- Legal research on California nonprofit obligations, specifically the California Nonprofit Integrity Act, nonprofit fundraising compliance in all fifty states, and nonprofit insurance requirements
- Copyright negotiations and compilation of a library of resources for women lawyers, including publications and studies on women in the law
- Data collection on statistics on women in the legal profession
- Content development, including soliciting contributions from practicing attorneys and judges
- Weekly updates and internet research on events and remarkable happenings related to women in the legal profession
- Conference planning for the 2009 Ms. JD conference
- Organization of programs to assist aspiring women lawyers in third-world countries
- Interaction with and supervision by women lawyers
Qualifications:
- Ms. JD is seeking responsible and self-motivated law students who have just finished their first or second years of law school.
- This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) for at least ten weeks in the summer of 2008.
- Ms. JD will offer a stipend of $3,500 for ten weeks of full-time work.
- The Ms. JD law clerk can work anywhere in the world as long as she will have uninterrupted internet access, a computer, and 40 hours a week for 10 weeks.
