Ms. JD International Scholar Update: Building a Library
In 2010 Ms. JD launched its Global Education Fund and awarded its first grant to the Gender Mainstreaming Division at Makerere University in Uganda. Each year, Ms. JD has been able to raise additional funds to support two new students to attend the law school under this grant.
At Ms. JD's Fifth Annual Conference on Women in the Law last October, a group of generous donors joined together to form a library of text books for the Ms. JD International Scholars. Thanks to the attendees' generosity, the scholars now have the following books available for their use:
1. Introduction to Law of Evidence
2. Constitutional and Political History of Uganda from 1894 to the Present
3. Administrative Law
4. Principles of Land Law in Uganda
5. Equity and Trust
6. Bromley's Family Law
7. Social Research Mehtodology: An Introduction
8. Winfield on Tort
Some of these books cost less than lunch at a nice restaurant--just a few dollars can make a big difference in the lives of our International Scholars. Please consider donating to Ms. JD today to make the Global Education Fund and programs like it possible.
