Ms. JD is awarding two $500 scholarships to female law students entering their second or third year at an accredited U.S. law school and working the summer of 2009 at least 35 hours per week for a minimum of 8 weeks at a government agency or nonprofit organization. Unpaid judicial externs also qualify. Applications are due no later than May 31. Recipients will be notified no later than June 16

If I am selected to receive a $500 scholarship from Ms. JD, I agree to be publicly acknowledged on the Ms. JD website and to write 3 essays of 500-1000 words over the course of the summer about my summer employment experience or any other reflection in keeping with the mission of Ms. JD.

I understand that nothing in this 2009 Summer Scholarship Application ("Scholarship Application") shall be construed to create any employment or independent contractor relationship between any applicant or scholarship recipient and Ms. JD, for any purpose. Nothing in this Scholarship Application, and no scholarship that may be awarded in connection with this application, shall be construed to allow an applicant or scholarship recipient to create or assume obligations on behalf of, or otherwise bind, Ms. JD.
