The Cravath Model Is Failing - Nothing New to the Bottom 80.

According to Professor William Henderson, Indiana University School of Law, and a study from Bell Laboratories, top performing associate attorneys can "evaluate problems from the viewpoint of customers and manager," take initiative, rely on more experienced coworkers, and build consensus. The study then goes on to further that these skills do not necessarily correspond to law school class rank. Family Dinner: The Working Mother’s Cross to Bear?

Slate.com's Emily Bazelon has an article detailing the results of a new study of IBM employees that observed a perception of lesser professional achievement among those working mothers who failed to regularly eat dinner with their families. The benefits of regular family meals for children are well-documented, but this is noteworthy as a study of the impact on parents. “Different Leadership Styles” or Gender Bias: How Do You Get Behind Euphemisms?

After only 17 months in her post, Susan Prager, the first female president of Occidental College, resigned. Gender bias is not cited as the cause of her departure by any of the parties involved.
