Audio Recordings of Supreme Court Decisions

I'm a new lawyer starting my second year of practice in Birmingham, Alabama. I wanted to share a project that I've started that might be of interest to law students and other legal scholars: Supreme Court Classics (http://www.supremecourtclassics.com/).

Possible action we could take re: XOXO?

Average: 1 (3 votes)

I am not sure how I feel about the ethics of this possible response, but it occurred to me so I thought I would mention it-

Use xoxo against itself. Start slander threads against the sites owner. Get enough people to post on the threads / read them, so that they get very high google values. Perhaps then the owners of the site might get an idea of what it is like to be web-attacked.

As a plus, if they selectively edit, then they open themselves up to possible liability for selective moderation.

Speak Out Against XOXO

Please see the front-page article in the Washington Post today:

Additionally, it looks like Reputation Defender has started a campaign to clean up AutoAdmit, including a online petition that you can sign:

"Join the campaign to defend a women's right to privacy & her good name" -- http://www.reputationdefender.com/campaign_home.php

It would be wonderful to get a critical mass responding like this, to show that sexual harassment is not acceptable, especially in the legal profession.

Take Action Against XOXO

Notice the article in the Washington Post today:

Also, Reputation Defender has a petition on its website, asking Anthony Ciolli and the Penn Administration to respond to calls for action to clean up XOXO and its affliates:

"Join the Campaign to Defend a Women's Right to Privacy & Her Good Name"

It would be wonderful to get a critical mass to show that harassment is an issue that potentially effects all women -- especially those in the legal profession.

XOXO* "most appealing"

Average: 2.5 (8 votes)

I figured I would get the ball rolling on the recent xoxo* ploy for attention and the unsurprising display of disrespect that has resulted.

The thing that irks me the most is the comments accompanying some of the photos of "the girls" - one "contestant" asked that her photo and all references to her be removed from the site. Rather than grant this legitimate request - the e-mail was posted next to the pictures in a condescending display of disrespect.

Another set of photos, by a woman I greatly respect - one who has contributed to this organization - includes the jarring remark insinuating that she is a feminist who enjoys objectifying herself in front of the camera.

To me, that is akin to a rape justification "look at the way she was dressed... she was asking for it"
