This election season there's been a lot of talk about "the top 1%." Putting aside the politics, why are there so few women plutocrats?

Today's recommended procrastination: a collection of academic mansplations.

This hardly qualifies as news, but the NYT explains why professional women hide their pregnancies.

We want you to raise your professional profile!  A great way to do so is by writing a guest post for Forbes!  Here's how.  Oh, and now might be a good time to remind you of Marne Levine's advice from She Leads: Be Daunted!

Need a new tool for your job hunt?  Try social media.  Oh, and here's a list of things not to do when working with outside recruiters.  We'd love to hear what our friends at Lateral Link and Major, Lindsey, and Africa think and if they have any additional tips.

An interesting "resignation letter" is making the rounds on the career blogs.  It's supposed to be about the culture of Gen Y.  We wonder what you think!?!?  We'll be interested to hear Lauren Stiller Rikleen's thoughts on the She Builds panel at Ms. JD: She Leads next week.  (Lauren is currently writing a book about Gen Y in the workplace.)

The Daily Beast and Deborah Spar wade into the "Having it All" Debate.  Their recommendation, and we have to admit, we kinda like it: "The only way that American women will ever fully solve the “women’s problem” is by recognizing the quest for perfection for what it is: a myth. No woman can have it all, and by using all as the standard of success, we are only condemning ourselves and our daughters to failure."  So figure out what your priorities are, recognize that they might not be the same as the woman sitting next to you, and let's all just be supportive of each other.  Crazy idea right?

Epic fail.

BigLaw lawyers often imagine in-house gigs as the promised land, but there's no promise of work/life balance in house either

Speaking of work/life balance, a recent New York Times article suggests it's causing intra-office conflict. Ms. JD's Jessie Kornberg weighs in to disagree.

The Apple v. Samsung ruling has been all over the news.  Gizmodo has an interesting take (filled with some juror intrigue!) on how and why the verdict will be appealed and may not stand.
