ABA Member Demographics: Seeking Your Input

Editor's Note: Ms. JD has been asked to share the information below with its members in order to help gather demographic information in regards to the ABA’s Goal III, pertaining to diversity and inclusion in the legal profession. Please see the information below, and note the deadline for participation in the survey is 11:59 p.m. Eastern on July 10.

One of our four ABA goals -- Goal III -- pertains to diversity and inclusion in the legal profession; specifically, it aims “to eliminate bias and enhance diversity by promoting full and equal participation in the association, our profession and the justice system by all persons.” As a part of our Goal III efforts, the ABA gathers demographic data on its members, including information on race, ethnicity, gender, disability, and LGBT status.

We ask for a few minutes of your time to complete a short online survey that will help us gauge member participation, improve member service, and foster an inclusive environment for all ABA members.

The information submitted in this short survey will be held in the strictest confidence -- and will be absolutely anonymous. The information will be used for aggregate reporting purposes only. You may choose what to answer; each individual question is optional.

The questionnaire is open now and will close at 11:59pm CST on July 10, 2013.

Please note that if you need to stop at any point during the survey, your responses will be saved automatically. To continue where you left off, you will need to use the same computer you were using when you started the survey and simply click through the link again. If you try to restart using a different computer, you will be taken to the beginning of the survey.

If you have any problems accessing the survey link, please contact: marketresearch@americanbar.org.

Better information of course results from better participation. Thank you for your assistance in this very important matter.
