Washington, DC – Arent Fox LLP is pleased to announce it will begin accepting applications from first-year law students on December 1, 2015 for its 11th annual Diversity Scholarship Program. The scholarship will be awarded to one first-year law student in each of the following Arent Fox offices: Washington, New York, and Los Angeles. We are looking for students who demonstrate a commitment to learning and practicing law at the highest level.
“It is our hope that students will use this opportunity as they embark on a rewarding and successful career,” said Chairman Mark M. Katz. “On behalf of my partners, we are pleased to make these scholarships available in an effort to bring more diversity to the legal profession.”
Applications will be accepted starting December 1, 2015 until11:59 p.m. (local time) on January 20, 2016. All scholarship recipients are expected to participate in the 2016 Summer Program, as well as attend the “Leadership Council on Legal Diversity” Conference for 1L Scholars in Chicago, IL.
Arent Fox’s 2016 Summer Program will last for 10 weeks; from May 23 through July 29, 2016. The summer associate salary is $3,000 per week, and the scholarship recipients will receive the $15,000 award in July 2016.
The Arent Fox Diversity Scholarship Program was started in 2006 and is part of the firm’s commitment to attracting top lawyers from diverse backgrounds. Since its conception, the firm has awarded 28 scholarships and recognized 36 finalists throughout the country. Those winning students have been selected from thousands of compelling applicants.
Interviews for scholarship applicants will be held in February, with winners announced in March 2016.
