Hello, Everyone! I am honored to write in my new capacity as the 2014 Ms. JD Writers in Residence Program Director. As a 2013 Writer in Residence, I wrote a monthly column entitled, “Attitudes, Actions, and Accessories: Notes from the Desk of the Professionalism-Obsessed”. As this year’s Program Director, and on behalf of Ms. JD, it is my pleasure to welcome the 2014 Writers in Residence and introduce them to you. Here is just a sampling of the diverse and important topics that this year’s Writers in Residence plan to discuss:
- The intersection between parenting and litigating;
- One Writer in Residence’s journey – literally and figuratively – to develop her nontraditional and international legal career;
- How men and women may engage in more productive discourse about the role of women in the legal profession; and
- A look at how we might infuse more creativity into our respective careers.
To learn more about all of the columns and this year’s Writers in Residence, please visit the Writer's in Residence Page. You will be seeing their first posts up on the site all this month. I can’t wait to start reading their monthly posts!
Before I sign off, I want to take a moment to acknowledge how happy I am to have the opportunity to work with Ms. JD’s wonderful Writers in Residence Program in my new role. It is a joy and a privilege to be a part of the Ms. JD community. I am thankful for all Ms. JD does on behalf of women in the legal profession, and for the positive effect Ms. JD has throughout the legal field in general. And now, without further ado, please help me welcome the 2014 Writers in Residence!
Happy New Year!
