My Top Five Passions (at this moment) are:
Human Development: I love learning and growing. Just as much, I love helping others learn, grow and thrive. I’m a follower of positive psychology, the science of what makes people flourish.
Travel: Travel keeps me humble and engaged. It helps me remember that my way is not the only way, that there is so much I have not experienced and that we are all interconnected.
Creativity: A new idea, concept, way of viewing the world, art, humor. All of these bring me to life.
Kindness: Kind people inspire me.
Leadership: Especially women’s leadership.
To me, Passion Forward means:
Knowing your unique gifts and talents, seeking to understand how you are meant to share them with others, and having the courage to do that, again and again.
I try to live my life passion forward by:
Staying awake to new possibilities and new learning, and taking risks.
My most passion forward moments are:
Each of the times I have stepped out of a safety zone to follow my passion: Leaving my small town to go to college and law school, leaving a law firm partnership to go back to psychology school, hanging out a shingle as a Psychologist, agreeing to teach my first class when I was so afraid that I shook the whole way through, leaving a salaried job to start my own consulting firm.
Advice Time! My favorite way to showcase my passion is:
By listening and asking questions.
Every person you meet has something to teach you. Take the time to listen deeply without judgment and figure out what that is. You will be amazed.
