The Military Spouse JD Foundation (“MSJDF”) has been invited to compete in Newman’s Own Foundation’ CrowdRise Challenge: Honoring Those Who Serve. Only charities that have been specially selected by Newman’s Own Foundation are able to compete. We are honored to be in the running, and we have big plans for meeting the legal needs of military families and veterans with the funds raised!!
The Challenge is a fundraising initiative to help charities gain recognition as well as funding. The charity that raises the most money through November 11, 2013 will be given a $75,000 grant by Newman’s Own Foundation. Currently, MSJDF is in twelfth place, so we have some work to do!
The MSJDF is the education and service foundation of the Military Spouse JD Network. Donations help military families help themselves by empowering spouses to work. MSJDF develops its members as professionals, teaches them effective advocacy skills, and then provides them with opportunities to use those skills to address the legal needs of the military and veterans communities.
Right now, MSJDF is in the process of launching its Justice for Military Families program to oversee pro bono partnerships with organizations like the American Bar Association and the Department of Veterans Affairs, and to develop a virtual law clinic whereby members will assist military families and veterans with legal issues, completely free of cost to the client.

Newman’s Own Foundation believes in giving back to organizations that empower people and contribute to the development of society, like MSJDF.
