By Jane Rosales • February 03, 2016•Ms. JD, Conference
As we prepare for Ms. JD's Eighth Annual Conference, we are asking each of our board members and volunteers to reflect on their superpowers and superheroes/superheroines. Feel free to join us by posting your own responses to the questions below. Better yet, join us for an out of this world conference on Friday, February 19, 2016 in NYC!
1. What is your superheroine avatar?
2. What is your superheroine theme song?
I couldn't pick just one song so I made a playlist of all the songs that are fun or inspiring or the type of music you need to listen to to get stuff done.
3. If you could have any superheroine power what would it be?
I wish I could actually fly or read minds. Or have the power to resolve any and all conflict.
4. Did you have an affinity for any superheroes or heroines as a kid? Which ones and why?
When one usually thinks of the word "superhero", one would think of someone with a special and unique power like the power to fly. I didn't have an affinity for any specific superhero growing up but I'd go with Mulan (yes the Disney movie!). She didn't have a unique superpower other than the drive to succeed (and save a country!).
5. Who are your real-life superheroes?
I'm lucky to know and have so many inspiring superheroes in my life like my parents and grandmothers. I find inspiring superheroes through work and school like professors and classmates who are always willing to lend a helping hand to others.
6. Why are you excited about Ms. JD's Eighth Annual Conference themed #SuperwomenJDs?
There are so many things about the conference that I'm excited about. First of all, it's in my city! I've lived in NYC for over 4 years and this will be my 3rd conference. Secondly, I love meeting all the amazing panelists and attendees as well as getting to see the Ms. JD board members. Lastly, even though, I've been involved with Ms. JD for the past 3 years, as a law student, I learn so many new things at every conference from the panelists or the attendees through networking. Yes, the conference is educational but the Ms. JD community really makes the conference unique and very special.
Up, up, and away we go to the Conference in NYC! Here's where you can get your ticket. I'll see you there!
