What Every Female Attorney Should Have in Her Wardrobe

Considering how busy your schedule is as an attorney, there are surely times when you face your closet, and then disappointment comes next. How many times did you open your closet and said, “I don’t have anything to wear,” to yourself? How many times have you stated that you need something “new” to wear? That means what you have is an inoperational wardrobe and seriously, you need to change that.

But how will you know which ones to replace and what items you should keep? Like a simple or basic white tee, or your blue pair of jeans, or how about your brown flats in a sunny day? In this article, we will help you to know and determine the essential clothes, dress or anything to wear to improve the wardrobe that you have.

A White Tee

Who doesn't know a white tee? Nothing's ever more classic than a white t-shirt. A white tee is best during a casual meeting with a client. The best style is the one that is soft and has a relaxed, lived-in fit. A v-neck white t-shirt is good if you want to look sexier and the perfect canvas for layering necklaces.

A wallet you can show off

As a female attorney, special get-togethers within your circle are necessary. Aside from these social gatherings can grow your network, it can also significantly impact the cases that you will be handling in the future as you may ask for their help if ever you need a helping hand.

At this point, we are pretty sure that you've had enough with those cheap wallets and we presume that you have already passed that phase. Upgrade your wardrobe essentials from an ordinary, not pricey one to a purse, and a casual clutch rolled into one.

Stop collecting year-old receipts. Your wallet is something where you put your cash and credit cards on, not your old receipts.

Black Blazer

Purchase at least a single black blazer with matching black pants or black skirt. It goes over a tee or a mini. It also complements a blouse and a pair of slacks over a business meeting. This piece of clothing is as versatile as a multitasking woman that’s why it should be a top priority or a must-have for a perfect wardrobe.

Little Black Dress

A little black dress is a perfect wear for any party. It will make the atmosphere as hot as summer, give you a head-turner do and will make everyone’s jaw drop.  Look for something knee length and sleeveless.

Don’t make it too short to get that classy look especially during business meetings. Also, make sure it’s made of a firm yet light fabric. Avoid thick clothing materials as that may stop the slimming effect of the black dress. And you might not like it when it’s summer, and you’re wearing a not-so-lightweight black dress.

White Dress Shirt

Despite it being at the top of our parents' list of no-no wearables, we just simply adore its color. A white dress shirt can be a fashionable attire when you wear it over your favorite t-shirt, or it can be a classic when you top it with a business suit.

Are you worrying about where to use this? It goes with anything in the wardrobe, and you can sport it anywhere and at any time of the day. You may also wear this as an undershirt topped with your tailor-fitted suit.

A Pair of Great Fitting Pants

Every woman should have at least one great fitting pants in their closets. Two are way better. The more, the merrier. Aside from being tailor-fitted to the curve of your hips, a good pair of pants is also comfortable to wear. Match it with black pumps and a loose white shirt for that sophisticated, chic look.

You may be asking where can you wear this. Even if you are someone who is barely out for a walk (of course, due to the nature of your job), this would still be great to get a casual chic look when meeting with friends.

Black Pumps

Make sure to shop at least one to two pairs of black pumps. It would be perfect when you’re from the office, and you need to have dinner with someone. If you think, plain black shoes are boring; you can use some shoe accessories. That doesn’t have to be expensive too. You can use shoe jewelry from some stores offering it for $20 and below.

A Striped Shirt

There are surely days when you want to look chic and grown up. Then, a striped shirt and a pair of jeans are ideal for you to get done with it.   This type of apparel is best because it is very versatile and timeless. You can create thousands of different looks using a striped shirt. Choose something durable, and that will surely stay in your wardrobe for a long time.

Trench Coat

A trench coat is something that you can wear as an all-weather coat or even as a long dress (just make sure that the buttons lead at least three inches above the knee). It’s an excellent transitional outfit of spring for a smart, casual but sophisticated look whenever worn. There are many trench coats that you can find in a women’s clothing sale. You can certainly be fashionable without hurting your wallet.

Denim Jackets

A denim jacket is something you can wear the whole year. So if you’re buying one, make sure it’s of great quality. Go for some plain denim jackets. Not studded nor acid washed because these styles are seasonal. Simply wear it over a white shirt, and you’re ready to go.

A Cocktail Dress

You may not be in the mood for a cocktail dress, but a few pieces of cocktail dress are right in the closet. What if there’s a sudden party you need to attend? This type of dress is not only suitable for cocktail parties. You can also use it to participate in a wedding or a debut. What’s wrong about being ready to look chic in unexpected parties?

Some Cotton T-shirts

Of course! Cotton tees are one of the necessities of a  functional closet. Ensure that you have at least three cotton shirts in these colors: black, white and something with a bright color that will certainly make you look good. Cotton tees are perfect for inner shirts paired with your leather jacket or for just-a-t-shirt-day-today mood.

Hand Bag

You saw it coming, aye? No woman on earth would ever be complete without a handbag. We suggest you choose something large for your essentials every day such as make ups, cell phones, wallet, etc..

And oh! Before we forget, pick something sturdy too for it to endure everyday use.

You will need at least one pair of sneakers. Needless to say, this is perfect for workouts, a casual shopping at the mall or just a simple rockstar look for your outfit of the day or OOTD. Sneakers can also be the best substitute for stilettos when you don’t feel like wearing high heels.

So, do you have all of these things? These are just the basics of an operational wardrobe. A wardrobe that can help you in your lazy days or the one that can help you achieve your queen bee mode look for a particular day.

You can now be a head-turner, a street-chic, or just a fabulous and powerful lady the way you want yourself to be. Just a little mix and match and you’re perfect. And even if you are someone bound in a hectic schedule, put this in mind still: “Life is too short to wear boring clothes.” Do you have anything to share aside from these pieces?
