Ms. JD launched its Global Education Fund last year to support women in third-world countries who dream of becoming lawyers but do not have the resources to pursue legal educations. This weekend, I was saddened to learn that the profession lost one of its greatest members, Frank Kimball. Frank’s love of Michigan football and his support for Ms. JD were unwavering. A confession: on the first essay on the first day of the California Bar Exam, I spent 20 minutes writing on the completely wrong area of law. As in: the question was, quite clearly, about torts, and I was writing a criminal law essay.
