Paths Need Paving: Although Trailblazers Have Led The Way For Women, The Road Ahead Is Still Bumpy And Under Construction

Terry Carter

The dining room in Judith Areen's home may someday prove inadequate for a repeat of the dinner party she gave in January. She hopes so. Areen, in her 11th year as dean of the Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C., hosted what has become a tradition over those same years--an annual gathering of female law deans. They find much to celebrate, though not the size of the room that can accommodate them.
