Ms. Alvernaz is in her second year of law and joint Master’s of Public Administration. Ms. Alvernaz’s passion lies in American Indian law and policy, she believes with a joint JD and MPA, she will most effectively make positive change in Indian country. Miss Alvernaz would like to combat violence against Native women and children through holding offenders accountable and help navigate the jurisdictional maze victims and survivors are subject to. Ms. Alvernaz is also obtaining an Indian Law certificate and was selected for the Public Land Resources Law Review. For 2016-2017, Ms. Alvernaz is the Native American Law Student Association president as well as the 2L Representative for the Student Bar Association. Miss Alvernaz enjoys to lift weights, spend time outside, visit family, and actively participate in cultural celebrations, ceremonies, and community events.
