About Us

WE ENVISION A WORLD WHERE EVERY WOMAN IN THE LEGAL PROFESSION IS ABLE TO DESIGN AND REALIZE HER CAREER WITHOUT LIMITS.

Who we are.

From aspiring attorneys to seasoned professionals, Ms. JD helps women in law find community and opportunity at every stage in their career.

Founded in 2006 at Stanford Law School, Ms. JD is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to the preparation, retention, and success of aspiring and early-career attorneys. Ms. JD serves as a powerful pipeline-builder and trailblazing nonprofit, dismantling barriers in law from consideration through career. With almost two decades of measurable impact and alumni serving as law firm leaders, general counsels, judges, and public interest lawyers, Ms. JD directly contributes to a more inclusive, effective legal system.

Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors composed primarily of early-career attorneys, Ms. JD has a strong national presence, impacting thousands of women through its signature programs. What began as shared experiences among law students has grown into a national movement.
